This Sunday we are continuing our series on the Holy Spirit: The Best Gift of All Time. We will be focusing on how He is the One and Only True Gift. We will be dealing with the following topics...why did Jesus call Him the Spirit of Truth more than anything else...the Spirit gives us the ability to grasp the mind of God...does the Spirit ever contradict the Word...the Spirit teaches us truth and guards our hearts from false teachings...the Spirit empowers us to speak the truth. I hope to see you tomorrow morning.

This Sunday we will be spending some time in prayer over our Back to School Blessing. Every student will receive a special backpack tag reminding them that WHCC cares for them. Please be here this Sunday and invite your friends.

This Sunday we will continue our series on the Holy Spirit. We will be looking at “The Gift that Makes Me Feel Bad”. We will dive deep into some interesting topics...the Spirit at times can be a dis-comforter...how do lost people really find Jesus...what is the one sin that will keep you out of Heaven...what does it mean to blaspheme the Spirit. Tonight is a going to be a great night at WHCC. Adults: “The Whole Story: I Kings” For the next few weeks we will be studying some OT books that can be very challenging because they can be very confusing. We will survey I Kings and in doing so that will give us a good foundation for the rest of the OT. We will be looking at the topic of a downhill slide and we will be dealing with specific questions like...can sin be passed on to the next generation...why do we want to get an A at the office but we settle for a D at home...is there such a thing as a mid-life crisis and what does God say about that...when are we most vulnerable to sin...when life is at the darkest why does God seem the closest. We have a lot to cover and to learn. I hope to see you here tonight. WHSM: Refuel - "Life Choices" KICS: I'm really excited about this one. Did you know the #1 diagnosis in children and teens in the US is anxiety? Our kiddos are under a lot of pressure - it hits them from every direction! For 5 weeks (beginning August 14) we'll be going through the "UnAfraid" study by Adam Hamilton. It teaches 5 basic truths: God is the giver of courage, God is the giver of love, God is the giver of grace, God is the giver of hope, and God is the giver of peace. As usual, we'll begin at 6:30 in the KICS room and wrap up at 7:30.

This Sunday we will continue our series on the Holy Spirit. We will be looking at the presence of the Spirit. Here is the fact: whenever life collides with you whatever is inside will spill out. Come this Sunday and we will talk about what is suppose to be spilling out of us.

Tonight the party is at WHCC! It starts at 6:30 with the Talent Show and we will end the evening with a short game of Bingo with some fabulous prizes that are up for grabs. Then, if you are in attendance tonight you will be able to go to any Baskin Robbins after the show and get a scoop of ice cream for $1.70. This will be an unbelievable night of talent and intrigue. I can hardly wait...in the words of Wayne Huddleston "I am excited!" (we will be meeting the youth room)

Tonight at 6:30 there will be the greatest collection of minds ever assembled in the history of WHCC. They will descend upon us as we get ready to play Jeopardy. Please come and enjoy your self and enlighten us with your vast knowledge of useless facts. I hope to see you there.

This Wednesday night at 6:30 we will have a rousing game of Jeopardy. The stakes will be high. The competition will be intense. The laughter will be loud. I hope to see you there.

How did a ragtag group of Jewish peasants change the world in one generation? Why was it “good” for Jesus to leave His followers? Why do we not mention the Holy Spirit in our assemblies? If I do not need the daily power of the Holy Spirit am I really a follower of Jesus? We will answer these questions and more this Sunday as we begin a series on the “The Holy Spirit: The Gift that Keeps on Giving”.

This Wednesday at 6:30 we will have Drew Maddux here to speak to us about “Overcoming”. He is a former Vanderbilt basketball star and is currently the head basketball coach at CPA. Tonight is a busy night at WHCC. WHSM and KICS will be going to see "Toy Story 4" at 7:00. The adults will have a Bible study at 6:30 as we watch "High Noon at Mayberry". We will deal with various topics such as...what do you do with your worries...when you are afraid does that make you a coward...do you get mad or do you get even. I hope to see everyone here tonight.

This Wednesday at 6:30 we will have Rudy Kalis as our special guest speaker. He has quite a story of how God moved in his life. Make plans to be here and I promise you will be blessed.

Tonight at 6:30 we are going to have a blast!!! All of our classes will meet at 6:30 in the auditorium for a time of fellowship and laughter. Tonight is trivia night! Brush upon all of that useless knowledge of yours. Bring your children and teens with you because you will need them. We will have snacks available and we will have a lot of fun. Last year our attendance was very high for this and we want a huge crowd for this night because we are going to have a lot of fun. I hope to see you there.

The Church Has Left the Building is this Saturday (6/15) and the day begins at 8:00. Please make plans to be here to help because by looking below we have a lot to accomplish. THE CALVIN HOUSE (Preston Taylor Ministries) - we will help a local (West Nashville) non-profit do some remodeling on their house that they use for tutoring for their middle school and high school students. We will be removing carpet, putting down new carpet, and giving the place a much needed cleaning. This will be a big job and we need a lot of good hard workers. MEALS ON WHEELS - 77 local senior citizens in West Nashville. The food will be prepared by our fellowship team and we will begin delivering them starting at 10:45. We need drivers. FOOD PANTRY - every week we help feed the needy and we are in desperate need of 2 things...food and for our food pantry to get cleaned and straightened up. Here are the list of items that we need brought in. You can bring that it on Wednesday night or on Saturday morning. Homestyle Bakes Complete Meal Chicken Tuna Tuna Helper Mustard Sugar Ketchup Jelly Peanut butter Crackers Dry milk Cereal Instant potatoes Ravioli Fruit Soup Vegetables Spaghetti Pasta sauce Cookies (or a special treat for the kids) JOBS AROUND THE BUILDING - we have a lot of work to do around our own building...updating the middle school classroom, clean up the dumpster area (it is nasty), and picking up trash on the grounds. We will eat lunch at 12:00 and the food will be provided by our fellowship team and the menu will be pulled pork made by our very own Rich Vik and the lunch is free. I hope that everyone will make plans to help this Saturday...it will be a great day for WHCC!

Below is a description of a new Ladies Class starting next Sunday during class time. A new Ladies' Bible Class will start next Sunday, June 16 in the conference room off of the auditorium. The Bible lessons will be inspired by the book It's Not Supposed to Be This Way: Finding Unexpected Strength When Disappointments Leave You Shattered by Lysa TerKeurst. Reading the book is not a requirement for attending the class. Just bring a Bible and be ready to discuss scriptures associated with the topic; however, if you would like to read the book as we study, the church has purchased a few copies for $13 each. See David or Suzie if you would like to purchase one. This study will begin with an introduction and last approximately 12 weeks. Tonight is going to be great. We have a dedicated fellowship team that has been cooking for several months and are deserving a little break. This is the last meal for several weeks but they will be back. Spaghetti will be served tonight at 5:00 for $5. At 6:30 we will have classes for all ages. The adults will be studying I Samuel and there are a lot of topics/questions to address. How not to smother your children...setting and keeping high standards...when you just have to gossip go to the Lord and not people...how and why God chooses the runt of the litter...your hardest times can produce your best work. This Sunday we will resume our series on Abraham, “The Long and Winding Road: I am a Ramblin’ Man”. We all have been called by God to move the problem is that most of us would rather sit by faith than walk by faith.

This Wednesday night we have poppyseed chicken on the menu. It is served at 5:00 for $5. We have classes for all ages. The adults will be studying the book of Ruth. It is a story of love...you could say it is like a diamond placed on a piece of black velvet. Ruth is the interlude between Judges and King Saul.

This Sunday is Mother’s Day. We have a special time of worship planned. The question before us is, what is love? We will talk about the two things that love is. David will have a special guest with him that will talk about how love is a choice. You will not want to miss this Sunday and please, bring someone with you.
